What is President Farmajo’s plan for the Dhusamareb conference?

Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed Farmajo yesterday announced a conference of heads of state and government, following a meeting with the international community. The conference, which was Somali president’s call for a conference in Dhusamareb on February 1st and 3rd was a step in the right direction. Opposition as he put it. He also added that the proposed international community, and to reach a solution in 2021.

The international community has proposed to hold a election issues in the country, and to avoid chaos.’

A brief statement from the United Nations Office in Somalia welcomed President Mohamed Abdullahi’s call for a consultative meeting in Dhusamareb. The United Nations has called on Somali leaders to reach an immediate and compromise agreement to implement the September 17, 2020 election-type agreement.



Tomorrow, in February 1, President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo called for the conference to open, and final preparations for the conference are underway, with the Somali people watching the outcome.

“The outcome of the meeting with the parliament will depend on the conduct of the Dhusamareb conference and how to address the issues and agreed-upon elections in Somalia.”
