Farmajo opens the preliminary meeting for the National Electoral Consultative Conference

The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo opened a preliminary meeting of the National Consultative Assembly on the Completion of Electoral Issues.

The conference, which opened today, was attended by the Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia Mohamed Hussein Roble and the Heads of State and Governor of the Benadir region Omar Finish.



The meeting will conclude with discussions on electoral issues and the outcome of the Baidoa Technical Committee meeting.

Somali Minister of Information Osman Abukar Dubbe gave a brief overview of the conference, noting that it was opened by President Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed Farmajo, adding that they are optimistic that the conference will be a success.

“Challenges have been coming from some quarters. We hope there will be an understanding so that the process can go well. We hope the conference will be successful and there will be a compromise. Pray for the people,” he said.
