Farmajo also criticized the move by the federal government of Somalia to seize lands it claims to own.
He described the decision as inappropriate, calling on government leaders to stop issues that could create chaos and political misunderstanding.
Regarding the elections, the former President noted that the current government has only six months left, and there is a need to urgently clarify the format and official timing of the elections.
He urged the relevant authorities to adhere to the deadlines, to avoid delays that could cause political uncertainty.
Last night’s meeting between Farmajo and lawmakers from both houses is seen as coming at a time when there are intense political debates in the country regarding the transition period and the 2026 electoral process.
