Somalia deployed special forces in the Gedo region

The Dolow district in Gedo region in Southern Somalia that planes carrying a large number of federal government troops have landed there today. The Gorgor troops were welcomed at Dolow Airport by the commander of Gorgor 17th Battalion Omar Deek Hassan, and the Gedo governor Nastex Abdi Salah, Dolow governor and other members.



The troops who arrived in Dolow district were led by Commander Liban Hassan Ali, and the troops were transferred to designated bases, which will affect their bases and defenses. The sources added that the troops are heavily armed with all kinds of weapons and the federal government has deployed them in Dolow, as confirmed.

The sources added that the troops will strengthen the federal government forces on the border between Somalia and Kenya, especially in Balad-hawo district in Gedo region.

Tensions between the two countries are high on the border, with the Somali government accusing Kenya of mobilizing troops along the border, particularly in Mandera, and the government said it appeared to be a provocation.
