The Jubaland Presidency, which issued this statement, said that the Jubaland Cabinet meeting held today discussed the conflict situation that President Hassan Sheikh is waging in the border areas of Gedo region, which it said could affect the overall security of the Horn of Africa.

“The President of the Jubaland Government, His Excellency Ahmed Mohamed Islam, chaired today the weekly meeting of the Cabinet, which focused on important issues, including the situation in Gedo region and the increasing unrest being instigated by the accused Hassan Sheikh’s regime, whose aim is to create protracted conflicts in the border areas of Gedo region, which could have a major impact on the entire Horn of Africa region.”

“The Ministry of Security briefed the Council on the latest situation in the region, indicating that the new plan of the Hassan Sheikh Command is to spread the conflicts it is inciting in the Gedo region to neighboring countries, which is a threat to the stability of the region and could result in consequences that are not in the interest of the Somali people,” a statement from the Jubaland Presidency read.

This news comes as hundreds of Jubaland forces, armed with armored vehicles, entered Beledxawo district in the Gedo region, where forces led by Abdirashid Janan, who are loyal and puppet of criminal Somalia President Hassan Sheikh.
