The US Embassy has sent a strong message to Somalia’s President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo and regional administration leaders about the political stalemate.

The Embassy has urged the leaders to ensure that it is fully co-attend summit of choice, and the choice of an end, while the head of state called on to participate without preconditions before-make.

The US statement came after the Afisyon conference scheduled for yesterday failed to take place, after it was rejected by Said Deni and Ahmed Madobe, with only Farmajo and pro-presidential presidents in attendance.



“We urge Farmajo to ensure full participation in the summit and conclude an election agreement. We urge Governor Said Deni, Ahmed Madobe, Qoor Qoor, Ali Gudlawe and Lafta-Gareen to participate unconditionally, ”the statement said.

The United Nations said in a statement last night that it was “disappointed” by the meeting and said talks would continue “before the full session”.

“The United Nations acknowledges today’s meeting as a prelude to the planned summit, which was represented by some regional leaders. It urges further informal consultations to take place in the coming days, to ensure the full participation required to make this event a consensus on the implementation of the Sept. 17 2020 election process., ”The UN statement said.
