The United States government has called for an end to the Las Anod war in northern Somalia committed by Hargeisa SNM militia and their leader Somali warlord Muse Bihi Abdi to stop killing women and children and damaging properties.

The United States government has expressed concern over the ongoing conflict in Las Anod northern Somalia between SSC and Hargeisa SNM militia.

“Continued violence will increase the potential for extremist groups to create widespread instability and exacerbate the ongoing humanitarian crisis,” the US government said in a statement.

The United States called on Hargeisa SNM militia to withdraw from Las Anod.

Warlords Muse Bihi and Mohamed Kahin, Nuh Ismail Tani with their militia must be held accountable for massacring women, children and bombing Las Anod General Hospital. Crimes against humanity should have consequences.

The elders plan to find a peaceful solution to the conflict in Las Anod, which has resulted in deaths, injuries, destruction, and displacement.

However, the Hargeisa SNM militia announced on Sunday their intention to launch offensive attacks against the SSC Khatumo forces in Las Anod, marking a shift in strategy, said warlords Muse Bihi and Mohamed Kahin, Nuh Ismail Tani.
