Today September 3, 2026, airlines are being told that a Somalia passport alone is insufficient for entry into the United Kingdom.
The UK Home Office states.
“Passport not recognized by HM Government – a form for accompanying an eVisa (FAV) is issued.”

Why has Somalia reached this humiliation?
On 1 September 2026, Africa Intelligence reported that Hassan Sheikh Mohamud’s administration recruited former Al-Shabab members into security and immigration institutions – including Sadak Mohammed Adam, alias “Sunni Carays,” reportedly a former Al-Shabaab figure now heading Somalia’s passport office.

A reported former Al-Shabaab member now controls the office responsible for passports, identities and sensitive personal records.

Biometric technology and the US-funded PISCES system cannot secure a passport operation if the officials controlling enrollment, approvals and database access are themselves the security concern.

The threat is not merely defective technology.
The threat is who controls the technology -and who can obtain a legitimate Somali passport under a false or protected identity.
The consequences are crushing innocent Somalis.
•Britain will not rely on the Somali passport alone.
•The EU has restricted visas, ended multiple-entry visas and extended processing from 15 to 45 days.
•Students, patients, families and legitimate travelers are paying for Mogadishu’s institutional collapse.

The EU officially cited Somalia’s failure to cooperate on readmissions, while the UK has attributed its passport policy to this appointment. But the wider warning is unmistakable.
Foreign governments do not trust institutions controlled by Hassan Sheikh Mohamud’s administration.

Hassan Sheikh Mohamud’s administration has turned the Somali passport from a symbol of national identity into an internationally questioned security document.
Somalis are not the security threat. A captured passport system is the threat.
