Djiboutian President Ismail Omar Guelleh has announced that he will run in the country’s April 2021 presidential election.

Djibouti’s President Ismail Omar Guelleh has announced his candidacy for the presidency. Speaking live on Djibouti’s state television, Guelleh said he had been asked to run for office, which is why he is running for a fourth term.

President Guelleh has been around for some time. He has been in Djibouti for 20 years, described as a long-serving dictator, and was first elected on April 9, 1999. Djibouti’s presidential election will take place in April 2021.
