The announcement of the death of Ikran Tahlil Farah, a member of the Somali spy agency, who has been missing for over two months, has become a hot topic in Somalia, with calls for justice.

Although it has not commented on the federal government, various officials, including past presidents and prime ministers, have called for justice and an independent inquiry. Ikran Tahlil was born in 1996 in Mogadishu. She was one of the young people who studied abroad and then returned to the country.

Ikran Tahlil Farah joined the Somali spy agency (NISA) in 2017 and trained for five months in London, United Kingdom.

On June 26 2021, CCTV footage showed Ikran Tahlil following her home near the NISA headquarters in Mogadishu, where she went missing. On September 2, 2021, the Somali spy agency issued a statement saying that Ikran, a member of NISA, had fallen into the hands of Al Shabab.

On 3 September 2021, the terrorist orginization Al Shabab said in a statement posted on social media that it was shocked by the news from NISA that they were behind the killing.

On the same day, former Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamoud and members of the Union of Candidates call for an independent inquiry into Ikran’s assassination. Ikran’s case does not appear to have ended that way.

Sources from the Somali spy agency told Somali Times spy chief Fahad Yasin is behind all of this and Ikran Tahlil Farah has a lot of secrets. This is the reason why Fahad Yasin got rid of her.

Ikran Tahlil Farah has been tortured, been taken photos of naked and has been recorded by force having sexual activity with one of the spy agents, sources told Somali Times.

Outgoing Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo and ‘Statue’ Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble have said nothing about the case of Ikran Tahlil Farah.
