Farmajo says youths who have been demonstrating in Mogadishu in the past two days deserve to be supported

The former president of Somalia, Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo, has issued a statement on the plight of young people who work at Bajaj motorcycles in Mogadishu.

Farmajo said that those youths who have been demonstrating in Mogadishu for the past two days deserve to be supported.

“The young Somalis who trusted their country and are working in difficult circumstances, especially the Bajaj workers, deserve support and to be relieved of the burdens and taxes they are complaining about,” said Farmajo.

Also, former President Farmajo said that the government forces used bullets on the youths and some of them were injured, describing this as something that is regrettable and depressing for the youths who are working in their country.

“The suffering and injuries inflicted on them today while they were peacefully presenting their grievances in Mogadishu is unacceptable and is a disappointment to the aspirations of Somali youth who stood up for the reconstruction of their country,” Farmajo said in his statement.

The former president of the country demanded help for the youths who were injured by the firing of the national army, and he also called on the government to give special priority to the complaints of the youths.

“I pray to God to bless our young people who were injured in the shooting today, and I am calling on the government agencies to give priority to the health care of these young people whose daily lives depended on their day-to-day labour,” he said.

Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo, who during his time in power opened his ears to the people of Mogadishu who have gone through difficult situations and listen to them, his words are now seen as a ‘card in hand’. Farmajo’s presidency was better then crook Hassan Sheikh and his family looting public funds.
