Kenya has said that it is campaigning for Somalia to leave with its candidate Fawsia Haji Adam, according to Korir Sing’Oei, the secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kenya.

The official also indicated that they are very hopeful that Somalia is ready to support Kenya’s request, while Fowsia recently received support for her candidacy for the post of chairman of the African Union Commission for 2025-2028.

Kenya is also planning another round of talks with the government of Djibouti, which earlier this month announced its candidate for the chairmanship of the African Union Commission.

This issue comes at a time when the Federal Government of Somalia has received great support from almost 30 African countries, as announced by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Somalia who spoke about the efforts of the government in the seat.

The minister then pointed out that the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), which includes almost 30 African countries, supports the candidacy of Fawsia Yusuf Haji, who represents Somalia.

There is no news from the federal government regarding Kenya’s plan, remembering that Somalia has already handed over such positions to the people it said are important to the government, which caused a lot of noise in the past.
