On Wednesday, a Hassan Sheikh’s militia who fled the fighting in Raskamboni surrendered to Kenyan security forces in the border town of Ishiakani.

According to the Kenyan government, at least 650 Somali federal army soldiers surrendered to Kenya on Wednesday evening.




The clashes, which began on Wednesday morning, saw Jubaland forces storm the Raskamboni camp, capture Hassan Sheikh’s militia and burn military vehicles.

Kenya is bracing for an influx of Somali refugees fleeing the border conflict with Somalia, as people living in affected villages have fled their homes.
